I can confirm that Mario 3D now launches on Switch 2. OLED Atmos 18.1.0 local update for Switch 2 20.1.1

I haven't played enough, but Mario 64 crashes when I launch it.

Mario Sunshine loads the entire opening cinematic, and I played for a few minutes at first, everything was fine.

Mario Galaxy loads the entire opening cinematic, and I played for a few minutes at first, everything was fine.

Again, I haven't played enough to properly analyze everything.

minecraft 1.21.90
local update

atmos (18.1.0) to switch 2 (20.0.1)- correct

atmos (18.1.0) to oled stock (20.0.1)- error 99%

switch 2 (20.0.1) to oled stock (20.0.1)- leaves the group does not update

BOWT 1.8.1
local update
switch atmos (18.1.0) to switch 2 (20.1.0)- correct
BOWT 1.8.1 switch 2 (20.1.0)
It seems the update came with DLC, I have expert mode and the other options active, DLC v3.0, I guess it's not normal, it's the first time I've seen this.

No, the DLC did not appear with the update. If you downloaded BOWT from a torrent, then the DLC is in the dump itself:

ooooh nice, I didn't know, I thought it had something to do with this update. The good thing is that it was possible to update.

trying to test more local updates for switch 1 games that need an update to run on switch 2,
switch 2 on 20.1.1 and switch 1 is on 20.0.0

3d all stars failed for me too

but mario kart 8 worked, the first one to work for me. why? no idea

Because you have Switch 1 with firmware 20. For successful local update of some games (for example BOTW, Pokemon Violet, Super Mario 3D All-Stars) you need Switch 1 (with firmware 18 or 19) or the second Switch 2.

Doesn't work like that. You broke Nintendo's TOS agreement regarding unauthorised devices that circumvent piracy (a MIG cart is an unauthorised device) and it makes no blind bit of difference whether it's your own backup and certificate used. You have yourself to blame by going online with it and sending telemetry data and whatever else they use to detect and track users usage data, so it's not Nintendo's fault, as they are in their rights to protect the business and their IP.
Did you read the post I was replying to?

I didn't say Nintendo was in the wrong.

I responded to a quote from the MIG team with my own personal experience which did not align with their claim.

There's no need to get high and mighty with me over it. I know why I'm banned, and I accept it.

I simply responded to a claim so that others wouldn't think they're safe.

So wait, you got banned and you only ripped your own games? This doesn't align with what me and a few friends are seeing. Are you sure you didn't download something and then forget about it?

Edit: And how did you rip them? We all used the dumper.

Plenty of people, myself included, have tried with exclusively owned/dumped games and been banned

Yup. Official, Physical MIG Dumper. Frankly, that could have been a mistake since it trims files

Yikes. Thank you.

Guess I'm telling friends to stay offline for now, at least till we figure out how Nintendo is detecting and banning the Mig.

My theory about only pirated or improperly ripped games getting you banned is obviously incorrect.

set up an emmunand on a spare sd card, downgraded it to 19.0.0 and 3d all stars worked
mario 64 crashes when i try to play it too. so not a perfect solution to push switch 1 versions of updates

I mean playing offline won't help. If the system got flagged at all it will eventually be banned once put online.

"@dolpf

i will repost this when i have time upload the video

Super Mario 3D All-Stars - cannot be updated, cannot be launched (on 20.1.1)

on switch 1 20.1.5 you can start the game you can update with switch 1 update match version with local users
on switch 2 2.0.1.1 it show that i have 3 option start software cancel updates
when i tab on the start software it ask update the game version CAN NOT START THE GAME WTF i need to do a update match version with local users
with another switch 2 is working fine but when try switch 1 CAN NOT UPDATE WITCH SWITCH 1 can not update it give an error fail update
Error Code 2211-0520"

Super Mario Odyssey - cannot be updated, can be launched (on 20.1.1)

switch 2 2.0.1.1
can start the game
can be updated with another switch 2 cannot be updated switch 1 it give you an Error Code 2211-0520

my final thought and solutions

get another switch 1 clean system
put in your game do not start the game or launch the game
do all the online update for the games

then use this system system to all update update with the update match version with local users

switch 1 with switch 1 will work fine

in some case if the first system is on the latest system version
and the second system is on a lower system version some game will ask you to update your system version to match with the first system
then after that you can update match version with local users "

I also used the dumper. I have never downloaded a Switch game.

I'm assuming a whole new flashcart will be needed to run Switch 2 games, but is it possible the original MIG will be compatible with just a software update? I have a second console I'm not using online so I'm not too worried about a ban. Just wondering if I should buy the original cart and dumper or wait for the successor.

to avoid ban console return, Nintendo will get smarter, they will create ban wave every 2 month so all the console try the mig switch will be ban and ouf of return period ! i wonder if we can return the console twice though? mig switch ban, return get a new one, insert the mig switch and ban again.
