Hacking MicroSDHC with Memory Stick Duo adapter: good idea?

I have a CFWed PSP and many people suggest using branded Memsticks like Sony and SanDisk since it's suggested to not rely on cheap brands.
What about a SanDisk micro SD with a Memstick adapter? Does anyone have experience with that? I don't wanna take the risk of using a not proper Memstick but those are very expensive and rarely go above 8 GB, while a micro with adapter goes as far as 32GB.

I use a memory stick adaptor that I bought for 2 bucks on-line and no shipping charges, one of the better deals I got on-line.
I have heard of other people having problems but I've had mine for about 3 years and haven't had any problems. It's definitely cheaper than buying a branded memory stick.
I just wish I had this option for my Vita.

I'm waiting for my order from dx.com to arrive because I just bought a psp 3000 and apparently it doesn't work with the one I used on psp go (sigh).
