Hi, I bought a PSP 1000 and I wanted to install the 6.61 update since it is outdated. But I have a problem, the PSP I bought came with a 32MB duo memory stick and I can't manage to put the update on the card since it exceeds 32MB. I tried buying a micro sd adapter with 32gb but my psp doesn't read the card. Please I need help, what can I do to make my psp read the card?

Hi,
Atabak Siabi is here.

Don’t Panic. You need to open your PSP. Look for dissembling psp videos on youtube as a reference guide. After dissembling, refer to that MS port. You can clearly see the pins inside that port as it has vents to see the pins. Gently push down about a millimeter each pins from the soldering side of that ports’ vent and release you tiny screw or shaft or whatever tools you can grab to loosely through those vents. It will make it better than factory. Mine ejects the MS like a tough mother giving birth after that modification.

Can your PSP read that 32MB card?
I'm probably way too late to be useful here, but I had this problem too. Earlier versions of the firmware limit the microSD card to around 8gb I believe, so you need a card bigger then 32mb to fit 6.61, but smaller the the 32gb card you were trying to use. The system was too old to handle it. I had that problem with OFW 1.5. I don't remember what OFW version is the first step up past 4 or 8gb card limitation.
