Hi to all, i have a question about the latest mGBA 10.5 app for the Wii.
When i run the games at 240p pixel perfect with no filters at all on a CRT, the image looks great, at least for a Wii.
When you look closer, you could check that the image is still blurry in some way.

Yesterday, i tried the same game (Mega Man Zero 3) with a Gamecube with Gameboy player modded.
Same config, no filters, just 240p, and the image looks crispier, much clearear.
The two consoles were connected with the same Wii component cable.

There is another way to make the Wii clearer?
I have no deflicker and the buffered config, all my other apps run great.
But with the mGBA i think is still blurry, at least at Wii.

I hope you could help me, sorry for the long text.

Greetings!!

Some of it could be simply due to GameCube's superior video output compared to the Wii.

Also, since you mention your GameCube is modded, I assume you're not running the game through the normal GB Player software, but rather through GBI, right? That's pretty much the gold standard for image quality when it comes to playing GBA on the TV.

Other than that, maybe there's a way to improve mgba's output, but I wouldn't know :) have no experience using it on the Wii myself.

Yes, the Gamecube is modded with the best GBI configs for clear 240p image.

On Wii, open the Priiloader menu
Hold the reset button down while turning it on to enter
Priiloader
Find Deflicker and turn it off. It is on by default. Hope that helps

I didn't have an issue with mgba 10.5 but...
Enhanced-mgba has extra options for resolution and scaling if you want to try.

Did you try modifying the Filtering setting inside the Configure menu in the standalone mGBA?

While in any GB/SGB/GBC/GBA game, press HOME to open the mGBA menu, then select Configure and in the Configure screen, scroll down until you highlight the Filtering option, then change that setting to Pixelated to disable the bilinear filtering.
Don't forget to save your settings after changing that setting by clicking/selecting Save.

thanks for clearing that up. Genplus-gx and Retroarch have deflicker and trap filter options that makes the image clear. Not sure what's wrong with mgba
This only deactivates the deflicker filter in the home menu

Read this, pls.
