After quietly announcing the existence of the new Metroid: Samus Returns, Nintendo of Europe has also quietly released the fact that the game will be getting a limited edition. Officially called the "legacy edition", it will contain the physical copy of the game in a steelbook case made to look like a large GameBoy game cartridge, a download code for the GameBoy title Metroid II, a sound-selection CD with 25 tracks, a badge, a morph ball keychain, and an artbook. A Spanish retailer also leaked the image of the legacy edition early, pictured above. There is no word if this edition will be coming to either Japan or America at this time. The legacy edition will launch alongside the game on September 15, 2017 for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems.

It's amazing. If you asked me last year, I would've said Metroid is dead and buried (Federation Forces doesn't count), and Samus would continue to just be great fodder for Rule 34 and Smash matches. This year, a resurrection, that will pick up again when Metroid Prime 4 is closer to release.

I Hope Nintendo dies after switch and become just a game publisher like Sega. Nintendo has nothing good to offer anymore. With switch its the same story as with the wii, wiiu. Mario and the gang games, indi crap, and prehistoric 3rd party ports. Any 3rd party exclusive game from E3 2017, any big current title to share with the other 2 major players, anyone???

Sounds familiar? Yup same story every single year from Nintendo, empty promises, over and over again.

And seriously, this metroid is just another classic remilking, something Nintendo is known for. And it's not even developed by Nintendo, just thrown to some cheap student studio and here, make something that looks familiar to the fans, slap Nintendo and metroid on it and job's done. Sold!

Does that story sound sh!Ty and familiar to you??? Sure does, you know why? Because it's history time again. Remember metroid the other M??? Yup, not Nintendos. Remember metroid federation force, same story, no Nintendo at all.

And please don't get me on Mario Odyssey, it has nothing to do with freaking Mario or Nintendo! If I didn't see Mario jumping around that washed out blandness in the city, with does prehistoric textures and character design I'd never say it's a Mario game, i thought it's rayman or some crap lol, very disappointed with Nintendo, that game is so babyish and cutesy, easy, even for a ret@rd it's easy. I died laughing when Nintendo presenter's played it at Nintendos conference how they tried to pretend that it's hard and how they're dying, how it requires skill to pass through does mini 2 minute levels to collect a moon piece. I feel disappointed and cheated as a Nintendo and Mario fan.

Last real Mario game and the only true 3d modern Mario game is Mario galaxy 1.

Super Mario Odyssey is taking a step forward and evolving the series than maintaining its traditional roots of how you know 3D Mario games to be. It's a good thing.

On the other hand, you have SEGA who are doing pretty much Sonic Generations 2 and going to be releasing an actual real sequel to the 16bit Sonic series (Sonic Mania = the real Sonic 4) but did they change anything? No, it's all the same. I'm not saying it doesn't look like it'll be loads of fun but they're not offering anything new. Sonic Forces will have a custom character option but to be honest, I couldn't care less about that as I'll just rather play as Sonic (or Shadow, if possible) through the entire game.
