MelonDS is probably hooking into sys-clk? That's how Retroarch works and it has the same issue with losing clocks when suspend.

Hey everyone, I'm having issues with both games Pokemon Black and Pokemon Black 2, where saving my game does not work. Every time I save, and close it out, it ends up deleting the .nro file for NXShell and it completely removes all of my roms from the roms\ds folder. Im just wondering if theres a fix for this or if its just for these specific games, or if saving games just doesnt work in general.. Thanks in advance

*Update: It's having the same issue with Pokemon Soulsilver as well however it only deletes the ROM, not NXShell as well.
First do you properly exit the emulator properly, by pressing Stop button and then Exit? And secondly even when not exiting the emulator properly nothing happens like this, I'm not completely versed with all the consequences of using exFAT, but this sounds like it could be one.

EDIT: melonDS does it's overclocking by itself, there's nothing with hooking to sys clk or something like that. I'm quite sure I know where the issue of overclocking being reset after switching to docked mode or turning the switch off lies. I just need to address it at somewhen.

Libnx allows you to use clkrst/pcv shit which lets you set custom clock speeds in a homebrew, both RA and Melonds use this, sysclk isn’t involved at all :P.

Interesting because when I disabled sys-clk module in Kosmos it seemed to break Retroarch OC. Maybe it was something else causing it.

So would you recommend I format my Sdcard with a different file system? Also, thanks for the reply

i can turn on/off my switch. After this everything goes back to normal. Any ideas of what the problem could be (overclock is set to 1.5)?

try to verify both your bios(https://drastic-ds.com/viewtopic.php?t=5417) and rom files.

In any case SX OS is not supported.

Hi. I’m having trouble where whenever I import a .sav file onto my switch from my computer to continue playing a game on my switch, the save is never loaded and the game asks me to start a new file. Any fix for this?

Save should be in the same folder as the rom and have the same name. If rom is called "PokemonBlack.nds", save should be called "PokemonBlack.nds.sav"

Any updates?
yes!

The past few month I only occasionally worked on melonDS, often loosing motivation after a short time. But during the last few days, I finally got back into the right mood and started working where I left off. I already redid the 4-bit text background optimisation (https://github.com/RSDuck/melonDS/tree/switch). There's of course still a ton of work to do. This is a rewrite of the 2D graphic rendering, so most games have currently a ton of graphical elements missing, but I'm optimistic that I get everything done.

Are these fixes reflected in the file that you posted a few pages back (the one you updated in the past?)

Thanks!
