Homebrew WIP melonDS for Switch

Sorry if this sounds stupid but is it okay to overclock the switch if it's not connected to the charger?
Yeah it's completely fine.
Overclocking it up to 1.7Ghz is okay, I think you can even overclock the GPU as well.
Only downside is that it will consume more power, hence less battery life on a single charge, but it shouldn't affect the battery in a long term at all.
 
Hi im sort of new but I'm having a bit of trouble. So I'm trying to play pokemon white and i got the overclock maxed out and when I start a new game the frames are pretty horrible. Same goes for Black&White 2. Anyone know why?

It is just at the introduction with dr juniper, then game works flawless in game

If you go back one page you will see a video I posted of a tutorial and in that same tutorial I'm playing Pokemon Black 2 at full speed. Its just the intro that has bad frames and then the rest of the game runs full speed. The devs went crazy on this one!
 
Is anyone else getting really poor performance in Rhythm Heaven at max clocks?
I only played the first two levels on stock speed, and they seem to run at fullspeed to just below fullspeed(my sense for rhythm is terrible).
Can you give more information?

Atmosphere (Kosmos) v0.9.4
Running the latest version of MelonDS as a game (not through the gallery)

Rhythm Heaven launches at a decent speed but slows down considerably over time, becoming unplayable after only a few seconds. Just flinging the start ball is already difficult due to the low frames.

If there's more information you need I'd be happy to supply it

Strange, what region? I played the jap version without problems.

Edit: EU also has the same performance. I also tested Wario Ware to be sure it wasn't my switch and it runs at full speed
i think wario ware isnt really a benchmark for performance. try somethink like metroid prime or mario 64 DS
 
@catlover007 can we have a build of melonDSi? I know it is still WIP in upstream but I would love to see it working on the switch :)
melonDSi is developed in it's own independent branch, some things need to be done to make it compatible with the JIT. I prefer to do this once it's stable and merged into master.
