Well I posted this on Discord a few days ago so I might as well post it here too. I don't want y'all thinking the project is dead or anything! Here's a build of melonDS 0.8.1 with hardware renderer and upscaling. Unfortunately the polygon issue is still present, so I won't be making it an official release just yet. I have a potential lead on the problem but I've been a bit of a mess lately and haven't had a chance to properly look into it. Everything else works though, and you can always stay on the software renderer if you need to (though screen filtering had to be removed due to the new display method).

For some reason this isn't workin for me I put the bios in switch/melonds I have bios7.bin, bios9.bin and firmware.bin there but it still says "One or more of the following required files don't exist or couldn't be accessed: bios7.bin bios9.bin firmware.bin" etc...

Edit: nevermind, just needed to rename them.

I tried this version and suddenly my switch doesn't error and restart. Whatever you did thanks :D

Uhhhh that's strange. Does it happen every time? Or just that one time?
I'm not sure what you mean. I updated to this MelonDS version 0.8.1 and I skipped 0.8.0. With MelonDS 0.8.1 the problem of my switch showing the error screen with a following restart into atmosphere doesn't appear. I haven't changed anything on atmosphere so tha's very nice

Oh wow I'm so dumb. I was misreading. The crashes DON'T happen. Well that's super nice! Sorry I can't read [emoji14]

Does this work well without OCing the Switch yet?
Heh, it hardly works well WITH overclock. It'll probably be a while before we get a DS emulator that runs well on the Switch. I'm working on a new emulator that will hopefully fill this role, but it'll take a while.

So it crashes every time you open it? I have no idea why that would happen. Does anyone else have this problem?
Wait no. MelonDS works perfectly with this version. Maybe i wrote something wrong in the other 2 comments, but I had a problem in the past with the 0.7.4-2 release when you released that. After you got rid of the audio and sent that version to me it also stopped with chrashing but now with the 0.8.1 release I am finally able to use MelonDS with Audio and without crashing. I hope you can now understand what i was trying to say. I'm just happy and thankfull that it finally works ^^

Yeah sorry, after I posted that I realized that I was misreading and I quickly edited my post hoping you hadn't read it yet [emoji14] I just can't read, apparently. I'm glad it works now, not sure what I did to make it work though lol.

This can happen, that's why I read everything about a hundred times because I always misread something xD Maybe the version you ported changed something else that was a real problem for my switch in the earlier MelonDS version, but whatever, it works now and that's the most important thing xD Thanks for your work on this project :)

That sucks :(

Really wanting to play the DS Castlevanias again.....

Will your build use the same theme and settings. the theme looks so good and works well along side retroarch i especially like game selection with the little icons.

You should be able to do it from the DS settings. You have to boot to the DS menu first, i think that is an option in melonDS settings.
unfortunately is this option not available in this version

How to change game languages ,it’s always start from French? Thanks
instead you can try to use the PC version of melon where you select System -> Run to boot into the system menu. Then change settings as you wish which are saved inside the firmware.bin file, which you can copy onto your Switch.

well you can just disable Boot Game Directly then open a game, it did the same job
