To celebrate the launch of Nintendo 3DS - 3D gaming without the need for special glasses - Nintendo and EB Games invite consumers to get down to The Nintendo Experience at EB Games, 67 Swanston St, Melbourne from 10:00pm - 1:00am, Wednesday 30 March.

Join in the midnight countdown for one of the most anticipated console launches! Nintendo and EB Games will be putting on food, soft drinks, music and even giving everyone who attends the opportunity to take home their very own Mii souvenir! Everyone who attends on the night will also go into the draw to win a Nintendo 3DS!

Staff on the night will be showing customers the inbuilt software features of the Nintendo 3DS including: Mii Maker, Mii Plaza and StreetPass. For those who purchase their Nintendo 3DS on the night and use it in store, you will be able to activate StreetPass and get started by collecting various Mii characters from like minded customers in the store!

So get down to The Nintendo Experience, EB Games, 67 Swanston St, Melbourne

Nintendo 3DS is available to purchase 31 March 2011. To believe it, you just have to see it.

For further information, visit the official Nintendo 3DS Site

I don't know if I'll go -- I am importing a cheaper version... But, I'll think about it...

I'd go, but:
A) The Nintendo Experience being PURELY in the city is really inconvenient.
B) Why the fuck not on a weekend?
C) I got school the next day.

Nintendo Australia really treats it's suburbians like shit when it comes to it's special events. Im going to the Fountain Gate tour tomorrow though.

I don't have a problem with the city... I mean, I certainly wouldn't drive out to Fountain Gate...!

It is just that as I am importing one from the US... What am I going to do there? Hang around like a dropout with nothing better to do? Talk to kids staying out past their bedtimes?

This page is filled with so many dancing mutated bunnies with leaf ears. The motion's got me kind of mesmerized.

I visited the official Nintendo 3DS Site and couldn't find any further information. In fact, I couldn't find any information about this event at all.

Quoted for truth.
At least one test unit in our locals would make me happy.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

Waiting for Anbernic's rg[whatever]SP price announcement, gimme.

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.
  • Veho @ Veho:
    I dread the price point.

  • Veho @ Veho:
This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
