Hey, I recently found out my PS3 Phat is hackable, so I went through the steps to do so and while I was getting the internet browser up and running, my screen became corrupted, like a matrix like after about 10 minutes.

I looked it up and what I've found seems to suggest there's an issue with the GPU, thermal paste and the motherboard. Does that sound right?

Would just reapplying thermal paste fix it or should i put the PS3 on a laptop cooling fan too?

Looks like video issue. Maybe disconnect and reconnect your hdmi cable. Try a different cable etc.

PS3 turned off. Press and hold power putt on until it beeps, then beeps once more and remove finger. This resets the video settings

So the system turns on still? Are you able to get video out through AV instead of HDMI?

System still turns on, honestly i have no idea where AV cable is to try

I've done that as well, switched out DMI and it still does it

Not sure but I had borrowed a used playstation with that issue, I returned it. I think maybe something is either inside the system. (open it up and check if you can) or the system just went bad. :ninja:
