DQ5 will almost certainly have protection since the Japanese game did. The question is whether it will be more protection than there was already. As I recall though, the piracy patch had no problems working with all flashcards.dgwillia said:

Okay, patched rom loads, but hangs on a black-screen after you select a file for a new game and white-screen on the second main option on M3 Real with M3Sakura, with or without bypass code applied. At least its SOME progress.

i hope i am not going to offend anyone, whether this game works for me or not it doesn't matter because i won't be playing this game much like many others
however, i am glad it works because we got a code that can run on flash cards like r4 + yasumenu , DSTT , Ak2 , Supercard and others...
but Upset because of m3, edges and some other card users, can't play this game for the time being

maybe it inserts the old cheat into the rom and not the updated one Narin posted later.
i tried DSATM but it gives me a black screen at file-select...
