Yes it is. Most of the menu and items are translated. We are close to finishing and may possibly move on to translating the story soon.

That's awesome! Is there any chance you could release a menu/items patch when you finish that part?

I gave the game a try and it's pretty fun ;D

I can't wait either. This thread has made me create a Maplestory PC account. I just have to wait until I get home to play (can't download the gamefiles here at work). Anyone know if there is a way to interact between the PC and DS versions? Or is it just not possible.

KMS (Korean MapleStory), yes.
GMS (Global MapleStory) and all others, no.

The only way to interact between the 2 versions is with a code that you get from the DS version.

You put that code into the PC version and you get something.

It has not been implemented into the PC version yet, so there is no way of knowing how it will work.

Just like twiztidsinz said, it will only work with the Korean version of maplestory though.
And if you did not know the different versions of maplestory are region locked, but there are ways around it.

Basically everything other than story has now been translated and hacked into the game.

Private tests are currently taking place, and a translation patch (excluding story) may possibly be released soon.

Considering how there is over 500 text documents containing story, that would be a hard estimate to make since I'm not going to open every single one up and calculate.

Will the translation patch work on the already patched rom? (that patch that fixed the game)
Idk if my question is clear, but will we have to patch a clean rom twice?
