Hacking Make WAD from content.bin (or ELF/DOL)

I think I've already explained this.

NANDFS dump, pull the .APP, .TMD, and .TIK files, repack as a WAD.

Oh.

Google's not too good at searching for, well, lots of things, but in this case info on wii / app / wad. Do I still need the ticket, or just the content.bin?

Let me try and ask a better question: how do I get a channel from one Wii to another? lol (namely the Metroid Preview channel).

Cheers

Dump the nand using NANDFS and use Blaze's Wad packer on the files you want to pack up

content.bin files are encrypted you need unencrypted files to pack them up into a wad. When you dump the nand using the NandFS application you get the unencrypted files

I tried running the FS dumper, it boots to the first screen, says:
"Identifying as superuser... Error ret-41

Booting Wii Menu in (Countdown from 10)"

Then freezes. Any recommendations?

this is the dumbest post ever. You need the ticket to install a VC title. you get the ticket from a FILE SYSTEM DUMP NOT A NAND DUMP.

Actually, that was the dumbest post ever...

The NAND is the flash memory installed in the Wii, thus dumping it would be dumping the NAND.

Just because the tool that performs the unencrypted dump is called NANDFS, doesn't change the fact that it's dumping the NAND.

wow you're so smart! I was referring to the elf boot file. The NAND is ENCRYPTED when you dump it otherwise.

you douche.

Not that your wording could confuse someone or anything like that. :|

Anyway, got the issue with the dumper sorted, how can I tell which files are come from what channel?
