Gaming Majora's Mask VC and save?

Does the Virtual Console soft save work with Majora's Mask? I tried and cannot find it. I am confused.

EDIT: Wait.. Does that mean I have to complete the prologue (become Kid Link again) then attack the Owl Statue in South Clock Town with my sword. Speak to him and he will give me the option to save my game??????

Yes, you can only save MM by either playing songs of time, or talking to an owl statue (after activating it with your sword).
Both methods requires you to play through the first 3 days to get your ocarina back. (If you know what to do and where to go, this takes 20mins tops)
