Ok, updated MAIO with Akaio 1.8 and it works when you follow the steps above.

Little Question: Is it possible that there will be a MAIO Edition with a combination of AKAIO 1.8 and Moonshell 2.10 Child Zwai?
I don't know but you can create it using DS Env Maker...

Nope, i've tried it yesterday with 1.7.1 and it failed.
Besides this Application failed everytime for me when I used it to make an MAIO-like OS.
rolleyes.gif

Sure it`s just me. Or maybe someone can tell me what I should have to do.

Edit: Steps i've done:
Installed AKAIO 1.7.1
Installed Moonshell Child Zwai with Downgrade
Installed MAIO

OK...
Downloading worked perfectly. Then I copied the setup folder root the root of my card.
But when I Launched Moonshell2 first thing was: Language was set to Japanese, that meant, that I've must had MAIO installed cotrectly, but when I've tried to launch a *.nds it said always unknown file or sth. like this. Just the message you get always when youre trying to load a ROM in an standart Moonshell.

(I also tried to mix MS2.10 and MSChild Zwai but like I thought I got an error when booting Moonshell that there are Verion differences.)

Possibly downgrading isn't correct?
What does boot screen says? Does it say "MoonShell 2.10beta9 booting"?

OK, one more time a superdetailed-log of what i've done.

1. Re-downloaded Env-Maker
2. Extract it
3. Started update.bat with admin rights
4. Started menu.exe with admin rights
5. I - Install Menu
6. 1 - Install AKAIO
7. 4 - AKAIO latest
8. I - Install Menu
9. 3 - Moonshell2
10. B - 2.10 childzwai With DG
11. M - Configure Moonshell
12. y - Hack overlay.dll
13. A - Addon Menu
14. 5 - Maio v3
15. y - Are you going to use MoonShell >=2.08 with modified overlay.dll? - Yes
16. Q - Quit
17. Reformatted my 2GB MicroSD
18. Put Setup folder to the root of Micro SD containing:
Code:
__aio
moonshl2
akaio.aio
akaio.nds
akmenu4.nds
LoaderChangelog.txt
readme_AKAIO.txt
19. Added one Rom and one DPG.
20. Turned on DS.
21. Pressed OK
22. Launched the ROM
23. And it worked, but there are no advantages from Moonshell. It says 2.10 beta9 for Translation.

Is there a way to obtain all functionalities of 2.10 Child Zwai without losing ability of loading Roms directly?

i'd suggest you trying it yourself so that you can keep your card updated (teach a man to fish and all that), but if you're having troubles, here is maiov2.01 + akaio1.8.0 + wifi plugin update.

but i kind of want the current moonshell
and still no autobooting roms for me.
so now i have an old version of moonshell and still no rom loading.
I can just hope the furry updates.

If you want the current moonshell2, you will need to use Xenon's ndslink to boot commercial roms. Not as simple to set up as MAIO (since there IS a download for that), but for the most part, just put the inilink.nds in your extlink folder (clone it and name one _vh.veryhugendsloader.nds and one _hn.hugendsloader.nds).
Make sure you also have the inilink.ini set up correctly. Then place an iniclear.nds as your resetmse, place Xenon's alternate moonshell2 loader as akmenu4.nds (and put your original one somewhere safe, and that your inilink.ini points to it).
Then place your games in a folder (a folder name that would be best left hidden, since you aren't going to use it for your loading) and get the ndslink.nds and ndslink.ini.
Fix up the ndslink.ini to match your setup and then use your flashcart to run the ndslink.
Finally, you should be ready to launch commercial roms via the mini nds files that are spit out from the ndslink.nds

Also, if you ever want to change your games, you will have to run the ndslink again and delete the old mini nds files that are associated with any of the old games that you may have removed.

Too complicated. Ues the mshl2wrp renamed to vh and hn and there is nothing else you need to do. You can change the ROMS anytime you want and the wrapper will take care of it.

Edit: here is what I did
Download Akaio 1.8.1 and rename akmenu4.nds to akaio.aio
download MAIO (latest)
download Xenon++ inilink wrappers (I only copied accross the following files /moonshl2/ext/mshl2wrap.ini, /moonshl2/ext/nds.inilink.nds, /moonshl2/ext/mshl2wrp.nds, and akmenu4.nds renamed to akaio.nds. (note* the renamed akaio.nds is only used to access akmenu from moonshell and is used to stop the auto run, alternativly you could use the original akaio.aio copied and renamed to something.nds and just hold down B to stop the autorun)
Make 2 copies of ]nds.inilink.nds and rename the copies to _vh.inilink.nds and _hn.inilink.nds

This should now run any comercial ROM via the wrapper (thanks to Xenon++) and will hopefully work with future releases of akIAO.

Edit: use nds.inilink.nds instead of mshl2wrp.nds. Mshl2wrp.nds only needed for DScovered

Not possible if you want to use the latest Moonshell2 instead of the cracked version. The crack allows for Moonshell2 to send commercial roms to the extlink, but the uncracked one doesn't allow that to happen, thus the reason why you have to use ndslink since it pretty much creates little homebrew files that can get past Moonshell2 and pass the commercial rom's location to the extlink loader.

I have edited my instructions above. Try it. It works.

Edit: I get it now. I am still using the cracked version of moonshell from cannon MAIO.
