ahh that's too bad. thought it would be a fun game to get my gf into
It really is a lovely small game. Don't have a secondhand shop in the neighbourhood? We have Gamemania and they always let their stuff get tested by customers.

I thought the carts were all read only though? Can we get some proofs please? thanks for all the effort maintaining this thread!Update: Although this is not confirmed, but the cartridges are all from the same print and have exactly the same serial.
However: when the game has been updated before, I believe something changes on the cartridge as well!
So there is something on the cartridge that tells the Switch what the minimum required firmware is. (and this can be updated).
So long story short: all cartridges should be the same, but the part on the cartridge responsible for firmware checkup is able to update itself.
Definitely over 3.0.0. I would guess 3.0.2.Does anyone know the required version for Lego Marvel Super Heroes?
If i bought the game card of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for my 2.1 switch would it work fine? Or does it need dlc or conect to the internet to load
Am planning to use it offline dont want to update my system
Xenoblade chronicles 2 - updated my 3.0 to 3.0.2
Between this and Mario I couldn't hold out - good luck to the rest of you!

That's a good idea, I could probably take it to the local used game shop to tryIt really is a lovely small game. Don't have a secondhand shop in the neighbourhood? We have Gamemania and they always let their stuff get tested by customers.
I can confirm it's 3.0.1, as an earlier poster said it runs on his 3.0.1 and it does not run on my 3.0.0No it can't. Since the DLC is included I assume it is 3.0.1 or higher. Since I do not have access to a Switch with 1.0.0. I can't confirm.
Thanks dude. Just bought explorer edition. Tried it on a switch that has never connected to wifi. Didn’t ask for update. My switch was 2.1 out of the box. When you are not sure just try. When it says update then just do not update it. Updates are not automatically. Only when you choose to do so.
I feel ya! These are all tests... I failed for them, but ey! I am also enjoying some quality games !
I know, but how does a cartridge know that the system needs to be updated? Somewhere on the cartridge there must be something that has to be working with e-fuses *wild guess* or at least comparable as what the Switch uses when it updates.

A Wild guess, but i think that comes with the game updates, my 2.3.0 has already been connected to the internet and i can still play zelda, i never downloaded game updates.
I believe downloading a game update will tell the game/console to search for a system update, my guess.
Wonder if deleting everything and factory resetting the switch will allow people to play the game, if a factory reset really deletes everything it should be feasible.
you can reset the switch without deleting saves in maintenance modeYour welcome ! Have fun with this wonderful game.
Yes and no. If you factory reset the Switch the save games and updates would be deleted... but I am not sure if you can just play everything then...
reset?you can reset the switch without deleting saves in maintenance mode
No? You can delete game data... however Nintendo would be foolish if the update data check is not stored in the save game.you can reset the switch without deleting saves in maintenance mode
Curious for the firmware requirement for "The End is Nigh" it came out today.
weird for something released now I wonder if it works on 3.0.0
