Currently running Antergos off a USB stick on my Surface Pro 1 until I buy a Displayport adapter so I can hook it up to my monitor, as unfortunately the only thing that Linux is bad at (yeah, I said it; tell me one other thing that Windows does better than Linux) is touchscreen support & to that extent tablet support. Until then, there's no real point in bothering installing it.
Also have a disassembled VAIO Z540 lying around running some Mint version, i think 17.
I wore out my old Acer laptops hard drive but it used to have Mint 15 on it.
I have a Raspberry Pi Model B with Raspbian on the SD card.

linux as actually helped me in stuff windows can't do and can't repair...
is your windows failing at booting and you want your files back without cleaning the entire hdd???
linux can pretty do easily this...
Linux has saved my ass a huge number of times, when Windows decided to corrupt the partition table. Restoring it with fdisk or GPT fdisk from Linux was a piece of cake.

Linux gave me back my Windows administration privileges when I screwed up like an idiot. If not for Linux, I would have had to create a bootable flash drive and use that. Thank God for chntpw.

Again for 99% of you there's literally no reason to use Linux. Someone literally just used Windows being closed source as a criticism while have a taskbar with basically just propitiatory software? What do you honestly gain for general home use over your Windows counterpart apart from stroking your e-peen.

For the most part if you're spooked about privacy just use Windows and have a Tails disc laying around. I mean I bet anyone here who's privacy paranoid have terrible internet habits where anything they do wouldn't even matter.
The same argument can be made for Windows.
Why should I use Windows when it doesn't work the way I want to to work. And yes, Windows being closed-source is a good enough reason for me to continue to not use it.
I have no reason to use Windows. I haven't used Winblows for over 11 years and I will continue to not use it.

I would like a Predator game "Kill Team" it takes place in the Jungle of the first movie, your team is sent to hunt the predator, using current tech drones and a trained team. Set traps use strategy to hunt and trap or kill the predator.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ill stick with my Battlefield. Yea a predator hunting game like that would be cool. Esp if you can be Arnold and say "Get to da choppa"

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.

He ruined it basically. Sad cause it was a decent old bike. It would take more money to rewire the bike than it was worth tho.
