I SUMMON THEE, @Crystal the Glaceon . SHINE YOUR LINUX LIGHT UPON US MERE MORTALS!

Hello,

I am a member of the Windows masterrace thread.
I came here to congratulate you on your 0.000001% market share which is an increase from last year's 0.0000001% market share.

Best regards,
Engert.

Linux is everywhere, even if you don't realize it. Even in supermarkets, many supermarkets run Linux on their.... I don't know the english word.... The machines where you pay. lol.

Anyway, I run Ubuntu MATE 16.04, Lubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04 on my 3 main laptops.

Actually it's 2% of the desktop market

This isn't counting the massive market share that Android holds nor the massive market share Linux holds for servers.

come on guys, linux is shit
windows ftw
Because you know Google uses Windows servers...oh wait they use Linux ;O;

Windows is closed-soused and resource heavy. The only reason it even holds such a massive market share isn't because it's good, it's because they bullied the early computer market. Instead of allowing users to choose their own OS, they forced an OS on them, then floated the market to ensure no other OS would be allowed to thrive.
And I am running openSUSE Leap 42.1

Hell, a few days ago I went to the supermarket, when I went to pay, they said I had to wait cuz they needed to boot up the machines. Since I had nothing to do, I simply started at Linux booting up there :P

By the way, Android is considered a Linux distro, correct?

EDIT: What does an OS need to have to be considered a Linux distro other than being based on the Linux kernel? O.o

It is Linux, thus it's a Linux distro.
I know all the stores in my area use Linux, most of the use SUSE Enterprise or Red Hat.

I don't really remember what those at the supermarket used, but it definitely was Linux.

Yes, but really, you're better off getting Windows in Virtualbox or dual boot.
Wine does struggle with some programs, but luckily, most do work.
well to be fair, if some doesn't work, a linux alternative exists.

Again for 99% of you there's literally no reason to use Linux. Someone literally just used Windows being closed source as a criticism while have a taskbar with basically just propitiatory software? What do you honestly gain for general home use over your Windows counterpart apart from stroking your e-peen.

For the most part if you're spooked about privacy just use Windows and have a Tails disc laying around. I mean I bet anyone here who's privacy paranoid have terrible internet habits where anything they do wouldn't even matter.

Automated Teller Machine.

Yes, but most of those programs could also be compatible with Windows 7 or there could be an alternative.
I like how you're bringing up the idea of using software alternatives on Windows. Oh boo-hoo, you can't run some shitty Pac-Man clone... So what? Windows has monopolized the market for over twenty years, can you really be surprised that a program like Wine exists so that people can run the odd otherwise-Windows only program on an otherwise unrelated group of operating systems (including Mac OS?)
