Life is Strange: Before the Storm gameplay trailer

Following a highly successful gameplay reveal at this year's E3, series developer Dontnod Entertainment has decided to upload nine more minutes of gameplay for the upcoming Life is Strange: Before the Storm. The video showcases early footage of a pre-release build, of main character Chloe, and David. The game will be episodic, and the first episode (titled "Awake") of the prequel to Life is Strange is set to launch on August 31st, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC/Steam.

Thank you for the continued support for Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Following a hugely positive reaction to the first gameplay, unveiled at E3 this year, we wanted to give fans a further, exclusive look at a brand new,10-minute piece of footage from Before the Storm, which is available to view immediately.

Returning to a familiar setting in Arcadia Bay, this brand new gameplay shows a 16 year-old Chloe Price who is still struggling with her father’s death and trying to deal with the unwelcomed entry of a new father figure, David, into her life. After a blurred awaking following events in the Mill the night before, this scene – which is cut together from a much longer sequence in game – unveils Chloe’s house for the first time in Before the Storm and provides fans a glimpse at Chloe and David’s turbulent relationship.

I wanted to see backtalk action. And no time travel for the whole game, huh? Hm. : /

When I was at E3, the devs said they specifically felt like the time altering abilities cheapened the game, so they wanted to stay away from that in the sequel/prequel. It seemed like it fit, going off the demo I saw.

I couldn't care what happened in the original, I always stuck with Chloe.
Cause real friends don't betray each other.

I can't wait to play this one.
Hopefully it's as good or even better then the first one.

Max left during this time period and she is the one with the time travel abilities so nope, no time travel. Might be interesting to see the things that happen knowing you can't just reset almost everything.

Cheapened? I don't know. What's left without the time travel? A coming of age drama? I'm not convinced yet, but I love the characters so of course I'll buy it.

I just thought of Until Dawn, where every wrong move (quick time event) could kill a person and that you couldn't reverse anything. Instead, you had to begin a new game. So frustrating.

hmm no time travel, I have to agree, what's left of the game? that was pretty much the only interesting thing in the first one other than the plot. But, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
