Ok, let me get this straight and see if this is right on the Smash issue.

-Cyclowiz is compatible with original SSBB jp on JP and US Wii units(Does this typically mean if the original works on a system, a backup will work as well?)
-The original SSBB jp does not work right now on any Wii units with Wiikey installed, but Wiikey has said they are working on a patch that will make it work as well as backups? But what region systems? Only JP? Or US Wiis too? Or is it unknown?
-There isn't a successful dump of the game yet because of dual layered issues

So is this right? And can someone tell me if what I'm expecting to happen is wrong or on the wrong track and if its possible?

    -Smash JP is dumped successfully
-needs to be burned with a DL burner on a DL disc
-Wiikey releases patch to be compatible with Smash jp and backup of it on Wiikey installed consoles(jp and us)

    put this in op:

SSBX IS dual layered - confirmed by multiple sources
The wiikey does not recognize the original SSBX disk, but will recognize a backup disk - confirmed by a few sources
Wiikey will work with a backup SSBX on D5 - confirmed by taiwanese source
Wiikey will work with a backup of SSBX on D9 - no sources avaliable, but wiikey does support D5 games burned on DL, so this is highly probable
There has been a way to make a D5 rip w/ D2C - confirmed by taiwan source
There has been a way to make a D9 rip - nope, the wiikey team is supposedly working on that

Since SSBX is D9, a dual layer disk and burner is required (unless you don't want SSE)

    did i miss anything?

Day 1 - Jan 29. HKers try to dump it, fail.
Day 2 - Jan 30. Some Taiwan guy dumps the first layer. Game crashes on SSE and during random battles.
Day 3 - Jan 31. Legitimate copies work on Cyclowiz. However, copies still cannot be made.
Day 4 - Feb 1. Still nothing yet.

The game has been dumped and the backup is working on d2ckey. Wiikey team has the iso and is working on an update.
    the game is 7.5gb
the single layer version burnt by a taiwanese guy has been proven false. It will not load at all except for a white screen with japanese letters

    yes it would
but the guy on youtube would probably be better

Anyways, so although the game shows a white error message, the fact that the disk didn't have a disk read error before the SSBX screen is still positive prospective for us
