Hi, ive been trying to install custom firmware on my 2ds, it has firmware 8.1. I followed this guide... everything went ok, but wen i click on Launch rxmode in emunand the screen just goes black and stays black.

Anyone else have this happen to them and if so is there a way to fix it? Thank you

Your SD card should have 1 less GB than normal.

You can also try using a nightly build (more recent version of rxTools), it usually fixes the problem with people who can't use older versions of rxTools.

Ahh yes i have emunand then lol

Just updated to latest nightly build but im still getting black screen.
1 thing i did notice was that when i clicked install bfi it says trying with secureinfo A failed, trying with secureinfo B ok.

I recommend the 9/28 build of rxtools nightly.

That guide is pretty much the one from the video, but in text form. :P

Surely easier to see if and where you've gone wrong in text format?

Plus watching a 20 minute video? too then reference again if you mess up, text guides are updated too, videos are not

Thanks you for your replies... I will try again after I finish work. Hopefully it's a little mistake. BTW if I get a bigger memory card so I can install homebrew and roms will I have to do the hack again? Is the hack stored on the sd card? Thanks you

i totally agree, i really don't get the whole video guide phenomenon.

do you have a link for that? rxtools has so many damn links for downloads its bloody confusing.

I had the same problem with a 2DS on 6.0.0. I fixed it by updating sysnand to 9.2 and then updating emunand. After I did that it started booting 10.3 emunand properly.
