so you are using the balenaetcher program to flash sd.image to sd card?

maybe the hekate version you are using? dunno if that effects things at all, if maybe you are using an older hekate or what payload are you sending to your switch? dunno if that matters or affects thing...

Not sure if this thread is too old or not... I've followed the directions, but when I select l4t from launch->more configs, it reboots to a blank screen w/ backlight on and just sits there. I'm using the latest hekate… (4.10.1)

    Hmm
did you follow the instructions carefully.
Try doing it again and use the latest version of hekate.
also make sure your SD card is formatted to fat32 not exFAT.

I have installed it and it's working.
    But:
    1. When I put the Switch in the docking station, nothing happens. Still Ubuntu is on the Switch screen itself. How to dock it? I really need the dock to use mouse/keyboard.
    2. How do I bring the on screen keyboard up manually?

around top right corner of screen, there is an icon, click on it, and should saw something about onscreen keyboard, click on it to make on screen keyboard come up or down.

for docking, make sure you have a proper nintendo dock and power adapter cable.

Mmmh I have a third party cable on my dock since I'm using the original one on a third party vacation hdmi adapter (which only works with the original Nintendo power cable).
That might be the reason. Thanks. :D

Faced the same issue too at times. It's not for fault though. Linux is kind of buggy sometimes. Remove your switch from the dock and put it back in. In case that didn't work reboot and relaunch Linux again.

Already figured thx to some hints here: It's because I wasn't using the original Nintendo power cable on my dock and Linux only works with that one. :)

Always use Nintendo's first party chargers. It's virtually impossible for them to harm your switch wheras third party cables/chargers are notoriously known to cause bricks.

While my third party cable is not one of those bricking bad boys it really doesn't work with Ubuntu so I guess I spend the 30 bucks to get another first party charger. :)

Btw do you know if this will work with L4T?

Can you reboot from Ubuntu back to Atmosphere?

Not yet. L4T can reboot to RCM, but you still need to inject a payload. Currently there's no "reboot to payload" method available.

But they found one for "L4T Android" (if you want to call it like that) so maybe they'll come back to this and add a method to it as well after they're done with Android.

We never know until it happens.
The guide here will be updated swiftly if such a feature were to be present in the upcoming L4T Linux updates.
