Have you tried removing your SD card? Sounds like you need to remove menuhax extdata from your SD

...like I said, I know I'm doing everything right. I've tried this. I got the error before I even installed menuhax and tried that entry point to downgrade. sorry, I'm a little frustrated that nothing seems to work.

Users with that error have fixed it by formating their 3ds and trying downgrading again. Have you tried that?

No, and I'm not going to. I'm not losing any data over this.

...well to be entirely honest you're probably going to lose your data either way. I did. I think there is a way to back up your saves but I didn't really care too much.

what data exactly did you lose? is your friend list intact and do you still have the same friend code? I have my saves backed up, I'm not worried about those. I do not want to lose my friend list, friend code, or NNID, however.

Nnid can be linked again. You can re add your friends again with your new friend code but you might never get this downgrading chance again.

Well, I lost everything but I made no effort to keep any of it.
I lost my friends list, and as for my friend code honestly I didn't know it off hand to tell if it changed.

JJTapia19 probably knows more about this than I do, so I'd listen to what he/she has to say.

I know I can relink my NNID. I still refuse to lose my friend code or friends list. thanks though.

I dont have my friends list or saves, but its a small price to pay imo

Not for me - I'm not losing data. Thanks anyway.

new3ds got bricked... can i do something?

Just wait for Nintendo's next update, they'll give you something to do with your bricks:

For how many stability updates Nintendo pushes out, downgrading isn't really all that stable. Perhaps this is what they were trying to perfect?

I think rooting your phone is 20x more dangerous/harder than this

What are you talking about? I opened the bootloader, rooted and installed CM 13 on my Moto G 2014 in just one sitting, no problem.. yet sysUpdater just simply refuses to cooperate, period

Guys heres a tip to save yourself a n3DS. Dont use SysUpdator on n3DS simple. Be patient and wait for KTM. SysUpdator basically doesnt even work on n3DS its that high of a brick rate/unsuccessful rate yet it almost always works on o3DS (Never saw anyone say it didnt work etc from just regular app issues just simple mistakes THEY made like downloading n3DS update files rather then o3DS etc).

KTM should work perfect on n3DS just be patient :)
Lol, you're pulling this crap out of your ass. Where exactly is the evidence to backup this claim? I've seen plenty of success stories with people using the latest SysUpdater + n3DS. I've also seen a few screw ups with SysUpdater+o3DS which have caused hardbricks not due to user error but due to a glitch in SysUpdater.
