This x1000000.
It's not the app, it's the exploit. You want to wait for KTM? Go for it. However, the chance to brick will still be there.. SysUpdater is just fine for what it is.
that has not had a new development sysupdate more stable if it would be easier to degrade and almost no risk

The issue right now is time. If you wait too long to downgrade, and get screwed by something going wrong, then you'll have to update to the latest firmware with nintendo's official servers. Because, if you use a application to do it, things will might only get worse. When 10.4 comes out, all of this is going to change.
and thats my concern.. justpingo said before sunday.. so tomorrow in my country.. if not then maybe i try.. still.. i prefer a 10.4 no cfw console than a rock that does nothing in the chance it bricks with sysupdater.

I think I should downgrade now, because the tools we have are quite safe and yet, I still want to wait for KernelTimeMachine.
IT'S TEARING ME APART!!!

Do you not understand that the chance to brick is still there with KTM? By waiting you are only lowering the chance of actually being able to downgrade. You aren't lowering the chance to brick.

It won't be any safer. It just checks for user error. Downgrade if you want to.

Mm. Despite everything people said, even what I said.. The application and exploits are currently stable enough..to be successful. I wouldn't be too worried about anything. You just need to triple-check (What I did) The MD5 Hash, and check if you're using the correct CIA files. (EX: Using O3DS on N3DS will brick, etc).

If you're not an idiot, like SOME PEOPLE, you'll be fine.

safe for OLD 3ds

That's the thing, I have a 2DS, so it should be safe, but one wrong move, and with the luck I'm having these past few days...

If something does go wrong, it's your fault. (Once again, MD5, CIA checking, etc) So, I wouldn't be nervous. Just do it before 10.4 comes out. But, KTM should be..released before 10.4. It'd be some funny stuff if it got released the same day 10.4 came out.

Like DKB said, it's user error when something goes wrong. Just quadruple check that everything you are doing is 100% correct and your chance to brick is practically nonexistent

I actually have all this done, but ugh, it's just like me rooting my phone or homebrewing my Wii, only things were a lot easier and stabler then...

...I think rooting your phone is 20x more dangerous/harder than this. Even I have problems with it til' this day. Damn rooting. And that's on a 800$ piece of hardware.

Anyways, yes, it's not stable enough to be considered 100% BUT, just..just do it. You'll be fine. If you can root your phone, then you'll be able to do this like a joke.

On most phones rooting can't hard-brick your phone.

what about those of us with softbricks? I've rooted phones, custom roms, lots of Android stuff harder than this. I know I'm doing everything right with my 3ds but I just keep softbricking when I downgrade.

Follow those instructions I sent you and there will be no issues. Don't wait, this may never get released/will be no more stable than sysUpdater. As it stands its bootrate is worse than sysUpdater.

Is your softbrick error a blackscreen while booting without the sd or a blackscreen with some white error text?

Have you tried removing your SD card? Sounds like you need to remove menuhax extdata from your SD

Ok so very small chance of full brick/soft brick but if it happens it's the users fault it happened from what i read.
