i could see it eventhough i haven't hexed my rom

because US rom has more files than JP rom, and i compared them (other language support than english(?))
as a result i conclude that step 4 is needed

btw what will your patch do?

Well I didn't do that step and it works fine. o.o It just undubs it and pretty sure it passes protection. Doesn't work on dstt 1.17 a02 though. Gonna go test out other things in the game.

I'm a noob when it comes to unpacking NDS roms. I only had my DS and Acekard for about 1-2 weeks, and from what I have been told, you need some programming background just to do certain undubs. Not sure about NDS Roms though.
Is there some universal unpacker/packer that will work with most Roms or something?

I don't mind DL that 100mb file, it'll only take me about 10 minutes.

JP rom is 200MB, and your patch only 90MB

maybe in certain games
but to undub this game, logic is the only thing you need
and a strong will to learn too

dsbuff I suppose well that is what I use to unpack ds roms. You don't need programming background really for undubs for ds games. All you do is switch files and re pack them. For I have no programming background but wish I had some programming background because I kinda want to program.

Brain lapse there I forgot you needed the JP rom as well as the US rom to do it manually. Oh quick note the .rar is 98 mb and the patch you use is actually 98mb or so. Yeah winrar compression on that = fail.

I have a bit of programming background, but not enough to actually do it. I can create programs that will ask you questions, and do calculations with an basic GUI. I need to finish reading my programming book.

Is that file the mv and snd folder?
Also, generally what file types are the sound and movies?

Dunno bout movies but usually sound.sdat or something like that is usually sound files. Note mv and snd folders don't apply to every rom.

Yeah, that's what I guessed. I checked all my PSP back-ups and they were all different, except they had some basic files and folders like eboot. To undub a PSP game, you need to have a programming background in order to have it work. That's why I thought it's the same with NDS.

Thanks, Boxshot. Sadly, if it doesn't work with DSTT it definitely won't work with YSMenu.

I'll try to make it work with the original R4 firmware.

Questions:
- Undubbing movies, are with japanese subtitles or english ones?
- Voices when you attack are the same in both english and japanese?

Also, try to use Nitro Explorer, because that makes compatible with DSTT.

Nitro Explorer is a tool for swap files. The thing is that doesn't change the ID for the game and also boot fine in DSTT.
Is better than DSLazy.

Except it doesn't work for dstt/ysmenu still. It will freeze on the first vid. Well time to try if my pre made sav would work.
More testing and it runs with a premade save but it will freeze on a game over screen and movies. Yes this is using nitro explorer.

The voicework is fine, I personally find it better.

+ Sora doesn't sound weird
+ Disney characters do not sound like they had to drink before they voice act...
