Kingdom Hearts series gets a new rhythm game titled Melody of Memory

There's a new Kingdom Hearts game on the way, as Square Enix Japan has announced Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. This will be a spinoff in the form of a rhythm game, where you control characters across three different lanes on rails, and must time your attacks to the beat of the music. Over 140 different songs spanning the entire franchise will be included in the Melody of Memory, which launches this year in Japan, for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

I don't know Jappanes but that looks like some post KH3 shit at the end...are they really putting core plot stuff in a rhythm spin off...really...
I mean, hay, I love rhythm games, but this seems rather odd for something so important.

Knowing Kingdom Hearts this will be canon.
Unironically, I have no doubt it will be.

That said, I'm a hopeless fanboy and this is gonna be great.

The Kairi part at the end leads me to believe this is canon and post KH3.

one thing is porting a very simple rythm game... another is porting an entire game, if they wanted to port basicaly the stopry so far they could since all the games are last gen games which shouldnt have any problems running on the switch, why they havent yet is beyond me since im preety sure it would sell well. KH3 is another story but the older games dont have any reason to never been ported to the switch.

Look at all the other "spin off" titles they put on the Nintendo consoles or even the mobile game. They all had the most important bits of lore for the series.

I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

    I appreciate the insight!

@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves

why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages

It does that when I edit a post.

It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
