I love kingdom hearts, or atleast i used too i played 1 , 2 and chain of memories (gba style) and i was insanely excited for the DS verison but i guess after such a long wait and me not playing video games in general as much i kind of lost interest. I still do want to play 358/2 now but ive heard that it gets very repetive and boring, is this true because if it is id rather not waste my time on it

little side thing i wana throw in here, i played TWEWY until like 1/2 way through the joshua level but then lost my save :/ is there any way i can get a save that starts at the Joshua level ? my main concern is the new pins ill have, i dont want to feel like im cheating or anything lol

I beat KH 358/0 and thought it was pretty meh. The combat was ok but I actually forogt there was a story until the last two hours. SOme missions were repetitive as fuck such as the horrible recon missions. But as you mentioned, you've enjoyed KH in past where I've never really cared about the series. In conclusion I say you should give it a go.

If you liked 1 and 2, give this one a try.

Also, Re:coded seemed to get much better then this one.

Good combat system, extremely repetitive missions, basically what emigre said.

I'd wait for Re:Coded, which has the same combat system as the psp kingdom hearts (the best one to date).

Any release date known for Re:coded in Japan/US?

October 7th, 2010 in Japan. Not sure there's a US release date yet.

but ight i guess ill just skip this one and wait thanks guys

Yeah, I really disliked the game.
APB, TWEWY is DEFINITELY worth replaying. Not sure about the Joshua day save, as I've finished the game. But IMO, that's the best RPG for the DS so I'd recommend giving it another shot (even if you have to play through the first week again.)

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 was pretty boring for me.
The storyline didn't really keep me entertained not to mention the whole gameplay was just doing missions.

I replayed TWEWY not too long ago.
It's worth getting because it was sort of an open world game which, I like.
And the storyline is good too including the bonus one after you finish the game.

Well, if you were to ask me.. I would suggest that you play it? It's not really about the game mechanics for me.. it's more on the story.. It helps fill in the gaps between KH 1 and 2.. The story goes along with chain of memories so.. if you wanna know more about the story you should play it..

I would say it's worth playing. I've beaten 1, 2, CoM, and 358/2, and I'm almost done with Birth by sleep.
There are some key points to the plot in there, though I will admit that a lot of it is, like everyone has said, repetative missions and pretty much stuff you coulda guessed on your own. It does add a new character to the series, Xion, but she seems to be strictly for the purpose of storyline in 358/2 and nothing more.

If you end up deciding to not play it, I would at least suggest reading some spoilers so you're caught up with the series, cause there's bits and pieces of the game that tie into Birth by sleep as well as future games.

I just finished playing it for the first time. I think the panel system is really unique and was fun to play around with. The only problem was like many others have said, it got really repetitive.

You'll be really into it for the first few hours until you start to realize the faults of the combat. Because of this, they spent a really, really long time to build up the relationships but by the time the story reaches the climax, you're already burned out from playing and just want to finish it as soon as possible.

It's still a very good, and well polished game of the year though. Worth playing still.

im a huge fan of KH1 and 2 but i hated 358/2 days. I wish they had decided to give us Birth By Sleep instead :\

Hell no thank god Birth By Sleep was on the PSP and not the DS. Birth By Sleep would have sucked so much if it was on the DS because there would have been barely any voice acting, horrible graphics, and wouldn't have been a big game as it is right now.
