haha.. Cones.. and dare they linked to the picture on wiikey.cn website and neoasic.com (meaning they did not take the picture themselves - so it is not a comparison of their original chip to the cones)
i just want to see whether wiikey team could prevent the clones from using their updates or not..
i read about that too but since the clones just copied everything, i just want to see how successful they are in copnying the Wiikey. the Wiikey team will have a hard time dealing with these clones.
i beg to differ. from what i understand, even the component is the same, they still have to program the chip. if the code is different, they will function differently.
Thats what firmware is. If you use the exact firmware on the exact same chip, there won't be any differences. So most likely, the WiiKey team is using scare tactics. There may be some chip on the wiikey for protection purposes, for example, the wiikey team could make the firmware check for "something" on the protection chip, and if the check returns negative, it wouldn't start. But stuff like security checks can be removed from the firmware, or be made to always return a yes. So I'm sure its highly likely that the WiiKey clones wouldn't function any more or less effectively than the original.i beg to differ. from what i understand, even the component is the same, they still have to program the chip. if the code is different, they will function differently.
