I just got my wii u out of storage storage because i was mobinh. I was invilved in wii hacking and i missed alot of updates on u. Before updating what are the benefits of hacking your wii u?

Definitely check your firmware version. Most firmwares below 5.3.2 are exploitable, however most upcoming tools are specifically for 5.3.2. If you need to update to 5.3.2, you can do so with a Mario Party 10 or Splatoon disc.
