Why can't we sniff the packets that the ps3 requests when we go to download a psn game, then redirect that webpage with the router to a different webpage with a different file to download. Just a thought.

Because PS3 will refuse to download anything that isn't signed with Sony's signature/key.

And no, nobody figured out Sony's signature/key.

^ exactly that.

Same for the Wii and 360.

Companies aren't that silly to let that happen.

Edit: PS3 masterkeys where leaked but I think it was patched shortly after.

Pretty much any PSN content or DLC is available if your PS3 is on CFW. Once Sony locked down the PS3 again newer consoles over 3.55 could not.

But everything can be decrypted and installed on a hacked PS3 these days.

I have heard some rumors that a firmware hack may have been discovered for the latest PS3 firmware, but how true it is I don't know.

Edit: A better way to put it, is if some one could fake all of that information about the downloads the best thing to fake would be a firmware upgrade.

Somehow, I smell a gamebased exploit.
I also heard such things back in the early 4.0 FW's but nothing came out yet.
