I just had some questions about the new update for the new Nintendo 3ds xl.
I tried to go play a game and the game needs to update buy I can't update the game because I need to update to 11.3

So is it mandatory to update to 11.3? Is there anything new that was added?
Or should I keep 11.2 as it is?

I wouldn't tell noobs to use nightlies over stable releases considering they are buggy. More often than not it causes more problems than it solves. Noobs need to stop using the Luma updater and do it manually from the release thread until they learn how to troubleshoot an hourly when something goes wrong. You know, instead of creating a bunch of new threads.

I didn't know it was against the rules to ask questions and post threads?
It's not. I wasn't speaking about your thread specifically, I was saying in general it's better for newcomers to use stable releases of programs to avoid new threads of unknown bugs with hourly releases. Of course you can do what you please, but if you don't know how to troubleshoot errors it normally just leads to unnecessary threads (generally speaking) It was in response to you being suggested to use the Luma updater, when in reality you should update manually to avoid more problems in the future.

People will always be "an ass about", because it's annoying as fuck to have the front page shitted up with the same noob questions all day, everyday.

(despite the language used there is no animosity levelled towards you @r3ddevil, I want to be clear about that)

Questions about a specific homebrew app or CFW should be posted in the their official thread, not with a new post. For example this question would have been better suited to the official luma thread.

Official threads are full of people who are very knowledgable about said homebrew/CFW, those that follow such threads are notified when someone makes a post.

So posting in an official thread will result in your question being answered faster, and by someone more knowledgeable than if you made a new thread.

Making a new thread can also be detrimental, as it can attract dumb fucking know-nothings such as this guy that could give you advice that actually makes things worse.

DUDE, READ THE POST, I EDITED IT
Fuck I never thought of that
I'll keep that in mind, thanks

(A genuine thank you to @Imacaredformy2ds for helping me illustrate this point so perfectly, but seriously stop it)

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
