Hacking Jump! Ultimate Stars having trouble loading on YSMenu

Back when I had the original R4 the patched version worked fine.
So I tried to play it again for the first time in a while on YSMenu and it froze after loading(just two blank white screens).
Anyone have this problem?

EDIT: Tried it w/ the nonpatched saved file and it doesn't work either.

get a unpatched rom. thats all i can think of.
