For your sake VVolts, I hope you were joking.
If you had looked up to kingofnoobs posts you would know the answer to your question.

I just posted on the GameFAQs board for the game about this.

Us looking around for help and trying to get publicity is obviously working, let's keep it up.

I know that it would be a bit unreliable but it would aslo make it faster for people who don't know taht language as well. All it would need would be a bit of cleaning up but it does seem like and quick way to the anime summarries and stuff like that.

I might be willing to help if you're really hard up for translators.

I don't have an incredible knowledge of kanji, but I have been taking a year of college level Japanese, and I have the tools to convert kanji to kana.

Not to mention, I believe there is a complete walkthrough for the game up at gamefaqs. I'm sure that by cross-referencing what is meant to be said, translation can come so much easier.

Anyway, just skipped ahead on this thread, sorry if anything I said is redundant.

don't take offense but i bet this won't be released for at least a year or two if at all.

can't really think of any translations that have been finished properly. just release what you have done now do people can benefit from your hard work. rather than letting interest die out and a new better JUMP gets made.

edit: this post was a bit harsh i think the progress you guys are making is excellent i just am worried something will go wrong and and it'll end up dead.

You have to remeber the way in which this has been done. In the past every project only had a handful of translators because it was too difficult to coordinate more than that. Then these translators would give up and it would stagnate. Some don't even get to where this one is. The last time a percentage was calculated it was around 45% and it has sped up recently. The beauty of this wiki-like translation, is that when some of the first translators burn out, some new ones will find the project and immediately start. Even then there is simply no need for coordination (at least until the cleanup stage) so there are very easily more than there have ever been on a translation project before.

In summary, this project is doing well.

thats great but most people would just prefer a patch with the things needed for gameplay and 90% of people aren't going to care about the manga descriptions and such. almost all the gameplay is already translated?

i think you guys have done a great job so far.

if you release a beta then more people will hear about this project and i'm sure there will be some people who want to help finish it... maybe advertise that you need help on the readme of the release or something.

sorry if i come across as rushing you guys it just seems projects like this die out regardless of there being a release or not and i would recommend getting a release build started while you have the people with experience helping you.

keep up the good work

The problem with releasing a beta patch was maybe that it would decrease the interest in continuing the project further as most of the necessary text has been translated. Though I guess both situations may occur depending on how the fanbase react to the patch

Have you guys checked the progress bars recently at the site? And they keep growing fast day by day. Now I'm happy that I didn't settle for a beta release.
Also, thanks to Seraku for mentioning us at Gamefaqs.

whoa!!!! that is some mighty progress. as for giving up, i think MANY people would be really dissapointed and so would everyone who put their hard work into it. once this is finished, all the people who pitched in will be gods :-D

Some of the percentages are over 100%... I know why, I read previous posts in this thread, but its still funny to see... I wish I knew Japanese and could actually contribute to this project in any way, shape, or form, but unfortunately, I guess I am just one of the guys that will stand at the sidelines cheering until something gets released. I am with the camp (although there is no voting asked for/encouraged) to release a "usable" version of the game first, then the FULL translation, corrected and mulled over by many eyes, later on. But, its not my call to make, and I'll just be happy if this sees the light of the day at some point this summer. Cheers!

The project needs all the translators it can get, so hop on the team!
