QUOTE(A Gay Little Cat Boy @ Sep 16 2010, 11:07 AM) Personally I am just going to wait for the American release since I don't feel like importing a game to be confused for hours over it.
Mine is currently in the mail, so I'm hoping it gets here around Monday.

As for the Japanese, this will be my first romp through a game in a language I don't know as well that I haven't played in any way before. All the Pokémon will be new, so I'll probably wind up getting all the Japanese names stuck in my head. I hope I know enough to understand the storyline.

I bet you have to beat 8 gyms in the region while thwarting the attempts of an evil organization, eventually taking them out once and for all with the help of a childhood rival.

Nah, I just made that up. It's probably going to be EXTREMELY different.

For instance: the clothes may be different.

Well, I know THAT part of the story.

I'm just curious about some of the other elements of the game that might require a bit of explaining. I've been avoiding spoilers from the last month like crazy just so I could have a fresh experience with the game.

For avoiding spoilers, this was definitely the best thread to come to.

i don't like the design of the wild pokemon

I thought the one in the top of the screen was a trainer. I was telling myself for one second this was a very ugly guy. Then I noticed it had a level and HP bar and was like: what the hell, worse pokemon ever made.

To me, this seems like some sort of obscure next-gen Machamp. Probably because Machamp was this 'champion fighter/wrestler/BRAWLAH' thing, and this is a 'black-belt karate master of some sort'. Not too bad a design though.

When seeing all those pictures of new pokemon.. i wonder if i will even play this when it comes to the EU. Pokemon seems to get more ugly by the generation. Best generation of pokemon were Kanto and Jotho IMO

College costs, college loans, book prices, the entire thing is predatory, oft touted as essential to a successful life for my generation and the ones since, and completely unaffordable without putting you through an insane financial hardship for literal decades in many situations.

It's important for society to be healthy and educated. If those things can't happen because all of the institutions that prop up those industries make it unattainable for all but a small portion of society, then your society is largely going to be disease ridden, dying, and uneducated in very short order.

I agree it's not easy for the average American, let alone the ones below that average. Free / cheaper healthcare is much more important I think than free university education.
Of course like @mthrnite said, why not both. But I doubt both will get solved at once, and surely healthcare is top priority.

Although diet is largely education, people don't need to go to university to learn what's healthy and what's not,
it's the whole country, big corporations and advertising that is to blame for leading most of the population to believe that poptarts and froot loops are healthy to feed a child
