I just disabled internet altogether by renaming the SSID instead of deleting it (so I don't have to re-enter DNS info). There has to be some kind of phoning home that the system does whenever you go online though. Perhaps activity log data can show that you played it early? I don't know, but am not too concerned about it.
You have the USA version? If so, please dump it... I'm not going to mess with CFW's just to play the EUR ver
I am talking about the update as well. If they can't find the update that is easy to find, then how is you dumping the update going to help them. You can't link to it from here.

The best option I think is to get Brain Age and set Haxchi so you can boot into CFW totally offline.
what do i need to install this? my wii u has been in storage i only have loadiine setup and blocked updates with DNS and i just purchased brainage to install haxchi
how should i proceed? do i need mocha? do i just set up haxchi or do i need rednand to play games online and use non legit DLC?
also what is this update i keep on hearing about is this just a game update or is there a new system update in BOTW that will take me past 5.5.1?
i have not been paying too close attention to the scene i only bought a wii u for this game and i am too busy to read all the thousand page threads because of personal goings on
can someone just give me a quick overview of what i need to do now that i have brainage

i assume i run the haxchi installer
but is that all? do i need renand if i want to play installed games online and use non legit DLC do i need mocha CFW?
also i remember i one thread about a 150 pages in or so there was talk or progress about sharing a wii u partition on the same drive as vWII is thi a thing yet or do i still need a dedicated drive exclusively formatted for wii u?

Mocha and rednand are not necessary for your stated purposes. Still need separate USB device.
The BotW update is separate from the game download and is necessary to boot the game. Wii USB Helper is easiest way to download EU copy of game but update must be obtained elsewhere like that site we don't talk about.

Agreed. It's the most convenient setup. No fiddling with exploits, no extra steps to run cfw, just turn on the system and and you're good to go!

Haxchi is programable, you can set it to launch any .elf you have in your SD, mine is autobooting Simple Signature Patcher to make use of DLC suport and pressing A, it boots HBL.
Point is, Haxchi is an offline launcher, you decide what to do with it.
That's the only reason why I'm not installing the game. I'm not willing to risk my NNID for it. If they can send log data, then they definitely know you were playing it before launch and what's the difference between that and the Pokémon SuMo case? Not much imo.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.+1 -

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.+1 -
