Hacking Issue with Pokemon Soul Silver

For some reason, whenever my Pokegear opens, my game freezes. And its impossible for me to progress after speaking to Mr. Pokemon because the Pokegear opens up as part of a cutscene right after you leave his house. Causing my game to freeze.

Is there anyway to get around it? (Im using the newest Sakura, and the final version of Magnius's patch), the Pokegear seems like an important feature, not sure if im susposed to use a clean rom, then never use it again?

Magnius's patch changes the game's id, which prevents the M3 loaders from recognizing the game as Pokemon: Soul Silver, which in turn, prevents them from patching it to remove the anti-piracy checks.

There is a way to patch the game yourself, but I haven't messed with it. Search the thread on the translation. It is mentioned a few times there.
