Hello,
I haven't used my SD-card reader with my SDcard (micro SD) card for a while.

Last time I used it, it worked fine.

However when I now use it, no matter what micro sd card or SD card I use.
I get the error there is no sd card or it must be formatted or write protected when I try it.

I also tried SDformatter but also said write protected.

The slider on the SD card is NOT on locked.

Also tried several USB ports... didn't matter..

What can I do.. I want to install gateway Oh gosh..

Just format it to FAT32, it's probably been used by yourself to flash a ROM to...so PC won't detect it as a drive anymore

I love you for a million ! LOL

I think this was the case... I forgot that when u do a rom on it.. it becomes weird.. :(

The new gateway I think this is not necessary anymore. will check ^^

Actually.. it did open up my SD-cards... I managed to update Gateway 3ds.

Next time I had to split a image into 2 x 2 GB..

Tried to copy to my SD-card then like at 20% of copying suddenly it says! WRITE PROTECTED

WTF..... I formatted again.. tried again.. same error..

What is going on???

Tried my other SD cards... write protected too..

Even writing the gateway files don't work anymore..

You can try this:

run console (windows + r, type cmd, hit enter)

type diskpart
hit enter

type list disk
hit enter

find the one that has the same number of MB as your sd card (around 1024 for 1gb, 2048 for 2gb, 4096 for 4gb, etc.)

type select disk X (instead of typing x, type the number next to your SD card in the list. Make sure not to select your hard drive!
hit enter

type clean
hit enter

now open disk management (often found as "create and format hard disk partitions")

right click the unallocated area of your sd card, and click create new simple volume.

Use the wizard.

Done!

If other micro-sd cards are giving issues it's likely your reader.

Try inserting the microSD into a phone or camera and then using the usb cable so your computer sees it as a storage device. Then drag and drop roms.
