ROM Hack Issue with Dragon Quest V European Patched?

I have this issue whereby when they play that iconic DQ music, there is a huge amount of static. Is this a problem with the rom? Because I have no problems with other roms...

In what way did you patch the rom?

I used the cheat from Narin's db to bypass then copyprotection and it works like a charm: Narin's Cheat db, it isnt updated atm though.

Actually, I downloaded it from a link I found on megaupload. Which one do I use for the R4? The USRCHEAT or just CHEAT? Because in my _system_ folder, there is only a CHEAT.dat file. And is replacing the cheat.data enough? Or do I need to used a specially patched version of DQV along with the codes?

It has a note for R4 users
There is a programing fault in the R4 that stops many of the codes working

there is a way to fix it, just read the first post.

and yes replacing cheat.dat should be enough although whenever i fix up an R4 for someone i usually use the URSCHEAT.dat file and leave the cheat.dat as is.
I just find that it works more often will less problems
