I am using wbfs on Linux to copy *.iso files to an external harddrive.

if I do:

wbfs -p /dev/sdb1 init
I can see the drive lights go for a second..

wbfs -p /dev/sdb1 add some-iso-image.iso
adding XXXXXX Some Game: Title...
error seeking in disc file: Invalid argument

nothing works..

I then tried formatting the external harddrive with my Wii instead and also added a game from disc, this works..
I can then put the drive back on my computer and do:

wbfs -p /dev/sdb1 ls
and see that the game is there..

wbfs -p /dev/sdb1 df
and see that there is some usage and such..

wbfs -p /dev/sdb1 add game-disc-image.iso
adding XXXXXX Some Game: Title...
error seeking in disc file: Invalid argument

same error again..
I also tried using the drive device name instead of the partition device name:

wbfs -d /dev/sdb
doesn't work either

my harddrive works fine only when copying games from a game disc while plugged into the Wii itself.. using a computer it doesn't work.. I also tried on a friend's Windows computer and didn't find the drive at all..

the drive is a Western Digital 320GB Passport.. Model: WD3200MLB-00
it is USB interface and SATA internally

I've used an 8GB USB thumb drive and it works fine on Wii itself and on Linux..

partitions and such are setup the exact same..

Ok.. fixed!!!

for anyone using a 64-bit version of Linux you need to download the source and compile it.

the 32-bit version will work for everything except adding images to the drive..

at least for me anyways..

happy hacking everyone!
