ok so i found out that there is a sample review here that is being discussed

it already has a video codec support from the looks of it

it uses less battery running DS games according to the reviewer

it uses the same PCB as iPlayer (iPlayer clone w/ DS2 functionality)

I wonder though if the DS2 can use less battery while playing DS games if that could be an option to use a less cpu compared to useing the full cpu on emulators

lol..I thought the exact same thing when I saw that
iplayer clone with nds support and the ismart name stamped on it

so it looks like
iSmart premium=EZ Flash clone
iSmart MM= iplayer clone

the only thing, that they came up with on their own is the iSmart name

Well, judging by previous cards, maybe they'll open source it more so than other companies, which could be interesting.

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
