Hey,

Today I noticed, that the battery drains from 100% to 0% very quickly (in a matter of 30-45 minutes). Is this the famous Battery Desync issue?

FYI: yeah, I played a bit with Linux and Lakka before.

Maybe...
But the desync problem is your switch cant charge to real 100% and shutdown at ~30%.

It depends on how much you play on your Switch...

Continue to test out your battery and if it's always draining super fast you'll need to take apart your switch and disconnect the battery to fix the desync issue. If that doesn't fix it there's a chance that the battery might be shot and needs a full replacement.

I had that issue as well. The battery should drain to 1% really quickly, then stay on 1% battery for a long time. You can fix it by unplugging the battery and plugging it back in

Yeah, it drains super fast to 1% but stays there for a long time.

Yep, the most guaranteed fix is to open your switch, disconnect the batter, then reconnect it.

Some people say that letting the switch die completely, then charge completely, then letting it die completely again will fix it too, but I've also read conflicting things saying that doesn't work. Worth a shot though if you don't want to take it apart.

Thank you. I still have to wait for my Tri-Wing Screwdriver (which should arrive around next month), in the meantime I will try the charge-discharge-cycle method.

I know that method works for other devices like phones and tablets. Removing the battery straight up forces it to re calibrate though.

When you do the discharge, make sure you don't even see the battery icon when you try to boot. That switch needs to be flat lined DEAD before you charge it up for best results.

I understand. Nintendo recommends to do 6 charge-discharge cycles. Do you think so many cycles are necessary?

With phones, it usually is effective after 2 full cycles. 6 will probably better your results, but I don't think it's necessary. Then again, I've read claim that this method doesn't work. So who knows maybe you need 6.
