Hacking Is this Micro SD good enough?

I've just bought the Cyclo DS Evo and with my current 1GB Kingston(Japan) card it works like a charm. However I am after something bigger and the best I can find at a reasonable price in the UK is this Sandisk Micro SD HC 8GB. Would that card be fast enough for most games?

I use a Sandisk 8Gb HDSC card. NO problems with ANY games at all, It's only a Class 4 but no slow/choppy FMVs or long waits for loading..

I'd recommend it.

Cheers, I think I'll go for that then. Its not a huge problem if the odd game needs faster as I still have the 1GB card which is plenty fast enough. I just didn't want to get one and have to use the 1GB more than the new one.

You're looking at 1-second longer loading times, rather than slower gameplay.

That's a REALLY good deal on Play.com, Think I'm gonna get another one myself.

Yeah they seem really good for various memory cards. I recently picked up a 4GB Memory stick pro duo for the PSP for £16.99. I've just ordered that Micro SD. Is there really enough out for the DS to warrant another 8GB card if you already have one?

Yup, Let's have a look at my card...
I currently have:
* 1gb of GBA games
* 4gb of NDS games
* Quake 1 and 2
* Doom 1 & 2
* SCUMMvm + 1gb of games
* LemmingsDS
* Rise of the Triad (with music converted to .Wav)
* SNES, Genesis, NES, GB, Spectrum, Mastersystem, ROMS
* Tyrian DS port
* REminiscenceDS (FlashBack)
* Lots of other Homebrew under 1mb
* Few mp3's here and there...

Trust me, I could do with a 16gb card when they're available.

Actually, since you use it, how good is the GBA support? I presume you're using the EZ 3in1? I've ordered the 3 in 1 to try it myself but it wont be here until next week. However I do have a proper GBA flash cart(EFAII) so if the cyclo's GBA support isn't great I'd rather use that.

GBA support is GOOD and although I've not timed it, the loading from Evo to 3in1 ram seems for be quicker (to me anyway) than using GBA Exploader. (don't quote me on it though)
I still have Exploader on the card for the few games that use '1Mbit' saves.
But... I'm more than confident TeamCyclops will have that fixed soon enough.
