Last night I was playing DQ IX then I got tired and turned off my DSi for the night. When I woke up this morning my dsi wouldnt even start up, it just went to a black screen that said 0000FE00. I cant send it in cause I didnt get the warrenty. Can anybody plaase tell me how this happened and is there anyway to fix it? I really want to finish playing DQ IX.

I found this in another thread about the same problem:

OK, It started doing something else weird (and was working fine minutes before that).
It suddenly stopped again, I turn it on and the bottom screen is just white and the top screen is black and in smallish yellow at the top left it says "0000FE00"

A quick google search reveals that you are not the only one with this problem.
There is another guy here: http://techforums.nintendo.com/nins/board/...;thread.id=1170 with the same problem. Turns out that all he could do is send it in for repair

There is one thing you can try however: ''I had a problem with my Japanese DSi, where it would lock up in a screen that appeared to be the first of the starting sequence. It was completely non-responsive.

After a while, I figured out that if you hold all the buttons (short of the d-pad) and turn the system on (holding all the buttons down until the system fully boots) it'll perform a factory reset.''

Good luck!

Don't know if it will work though...

Well I tried that but its really uncomfortable and hard to press all the buttons at once and sometimes my L and R buttons dont respond so I dont know if you can even reset that way on my dsi. But I'll keep trying that just to make sure.

.....or pop the battery out? leave it out for a bit, might reset it also, if the button trick doesn't work!!

Are there any stores that can fix this for me like Gamestop or something? How much would it cost?

Lol well I got mad and repeatedly punched my DS for a bit left it alone but it didnt work so I went outside and came back punched it some more. Repeatedly pressed the power button hoping that it worked, it didnt so I went to sleep woke up and it finally worked. just to make sure i reseted it again but the problem came back so it waited for a bit with the dsi off. Sometimes it booted up and sometimes it didnt but then it stoped having errors. I got lucky cause it fixed itself.

So in short, violence WAS the answer!
