(Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I really wasn't sure where to put it. If it's in an incorrect thread, please move it if you can.)
I can't purchase a Gateway or Sky, because currently, my family doesn't have too much money to spend on 3DS games, amiibos, etc., so I've been wondering if there's a way to install CIA files to SD card without either of the carts mentioned earlier.
If it helps, my O3DS firmware is 9.6.0-24U, and I have an R4i Gold.

even if you had gw you could not use it, you need a 3ds on a hackable firmware to get access to anything like this. sorry

Oh, I see.
Do you know of any other ways to play pirated 3DS games without a Gateway or Sky?

there is no chance at all, with the 3ds you have. if you had a lower fw yes there are a few limited things you could do to play some games, for free.

So I'm guessing there's also no way to downgrade my fw either?

are you using haxchi, tiramisu or aroma?
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
no, I'm asking which one of them you are using
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
in that case, there is no such thing as homebrew launcher for aroma
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
you have to launch your homebrews directly from the wii u menu
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
there is a plugin that display them on the wii u menu, pretty sure it is enabled by default
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    so like it doesnt exist
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    yeah
    ?
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
it doesn't exist, at least not for aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    ohhhhh
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
on tiramisu you can access it by opening mii maker
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    okay
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
I don't have a wii u anymore to test it myself, but if homebrews are not visible on the wii u menu I think you can press L + R + minus to open the plugin menu, there should be an option called "homebrews on wii u menu" or something similar
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    nope
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
    it is L+dpad down+ select
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
but homebrew is appearing in the home menu btw
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
    yes, now I remember it
  • NinStar @ NinStar:
then it is working, I also don't like that they did this but it is the only option you have if you are using aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
i just didint know the homebrew launcher didint exist in aroma
  • crafthp434 @ crafthp434:
