Gaming Is there a way to force higher resolution in low-res programs running full screen?

There some games that was made years ago that just don't have higher resolutions than 800X600 or anything close enough to HD widescreen, so i was just curious if there was any possible solution to enable higher resolution in such games. Just random Example. Rockman 7 FC

Sometimes you may be able to set the resolution manually to a higher setting in the config file, but if the game is just not designed to run at more than one screen resolution, all of the GUI and camera placement etc. is probably hardcoded to that resolution.
