Hacking Question Is there a simple way to back up EmuMMC?

My emunand is on a 30GB FAT32 partition of my microSD card. When I upgraded to a larger card last week, it was quite annoying to transfer the emunand partition. I ended up using DiskGenius (Windows) to clone it sector by sector directly from the old to the new card. However, I would like to have a simple way to create a backup of the emunand in case anything ever goes wrong. I am surprised that Hekate has no emunand backup feature...
So what is an easy way to create an image of my emunand? I don't want an image of the entire SD card, which is what for instance Win32DiskImager does.

If you "brick" your emunand, you create easily a new one. Thats all.

If you only care about the saves, you can backup them with CheckPoint. That's how I do it. Before I update the emuMMC firmware, I create a backup of all my saves.

Yes. But maybe if you install to the sd card, you don't have to reinstall every game.

How is your emunand on your sd card? A hidden partition? Split files? If the latter, just back them up onto your computer. If it's a partition that's unreadable in Windows, use diskgenius and see if you can create an img of it or just back it up.

It's a hidden partition. DiskGenius thinks it's empty and creates a tiny file that is NOT a sector by sector image (I tried this last week).

if you're comfortable with command line, you can use dd
