I've tried good old (and I mean OLD) SNEmulDS and the even worse SNES DS, and neither one of them play my games well.

Is there any more recent SNES emulator with better compatibility?

SNEmulDS is the best one out there i think.
If you don't have a DSTWO (supercard ds two) that have a extra processor and a built in snes/gba emulator.

Then you are out of luck unless someone feels the need to pick SNEmulDS back up.

So what you're telling me is that I have to pay who knows how much to get an SNES emulator that will play Final Fantasy IV. God damn it.

Hrmm, somewhat off-topic, but can this GBA emulator button-map? If not, it's terrible if your shoulder buttons are broken (not just dirty, actually broken).

The iPlayer is also able to emulate some GBA games too.

I have the best SNES emulator ever concieved. A SNES.

But seriously, if you have a PSP there's a fairly decent SNES emulator for it which I use for games that are ridiculously rare or expensive to the point where I can't acquire them for my real SNES.

Gotta give credit for the mighty Super Nintendo though. Some of the greatest games ever created, and you can hit it full force with a hammer and it'll still work without incident. I swear mine's danced in the blue flame, it is immortal. Had it for well over a decade and it's like new. Makes me smile knowing my dad paid a fortune for his PS3 and it breaks down constantly while I got my SNES cheap and it's been working fine all this time.
