I think it's pretty hilarious how one user, Suspicion, managed to start an entire flame war against me and that most of the people contributing to the war have under 100 posts... Most even under 50.

I was asking people's opinion on the matter, does this mean I'm not able to voice my opinion as well? You want me to list some of the games that I believe will succeed and fall into the categories that I have specified? Fine. Let's focus on the month of June.

1. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 - Why? (YES, there's a why, I don't see anyone else backing up their opinions.) Square-Enix has been producing games for a long time and they're ALWAYS successful. Look at TWEWY. It was a completely new game with no prequels, and it was rated well along with pretty decent sales. Also, FFTA2 DID have a prequel, which makes any avid gamer who played it previously on the GBA continue onto the sequel for the DS.

2. Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard - Why? All Atlus games are great, no matter how you look at it. It's a simple formula of good artwork and animation styles combined with a great strategy based RPG. Though, I personally didn't play the first one, I know many other people did, which is why I believe Etrian Odyssey II will sell.

3. Guitar Hero: On Tour: Why? Because people have always been buying games with peripherals and they aren't going to stop any time soon. Basically, this game has the chance of selling like hotcakes similar to the original series for non-portable systems. I never said it would fail, I just said it would be embarrassing playing out in public.

However, don't expect me to give sympathy for a game like "Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles". If this game appeals to some of you, then fine. But for the rest of the "gaming community", GamePro rated it 35/100, and even Nintendo Power rated it a 50/100. Why would ANYONE wanna buy that? (I know someone is going to flame me on this part, go right ahead.)

Conra, this post was mainly directed at you. At your entire list of games for June, only 3 managed to appeal to me. That's what it is. An opinion. Simple as that. However, out of that list, do you realize the number of games that didn't? That's more BS games that people are pushing onto the DS instead of making some quality games that frankly I believe the "community" would want to see.

Again, for you flamers not reading, this post was based on the month of JUNE. Not later. JUNE. J U N E.

Anyways, if you guys are DONE...

I think that what I'm going to say has already obviously been established, but I'll say it anyway. The DS is obviously not going to fail, an I'll tell you why. It's not because of the great amount of good games coming out (although this is obviously a factor) it's that Nintendo simply will NOT let the DS die. Nintendo are smart. Retarded when it comes to releasing games, but smart. They won't let the DS stagnate. Sure, they'll churn out hundreds of mediocore games for the masses. But lets face it, the people like us, reading forums and posting, AREN'T the masses. And we know better than to buy shovelware, and to wait fifteen months exaggeration for every game. We know that Nintendo loves us like the red-headed stepchild. But they still throw us a bone every now and then. Which is more than I can say for Sony and their PSP.
I completely agree with you. Hopefully Nintendo will release another game soon like a Kirby or Mario game. I don't expect to see a Zelda sequel in the DS's lifetime. So long as they don't do the Mario Party 1-8 thing, xD I think Mario Party DS was good as it is.
About the PSP, Sony doesn't design enough appealing games, that's what the problem is. But I still think Square-Enix games on the PSP are pretty good, and the PSP's ability to emulate PS1 games is pretty appealing.

But Composer, sir. NDS is still full of so many possibilities!
And yet those Developers are too blind to see them

Nah, NDS is not doomed yet. Handheld is not a competitive market, there's only Nintendo and SONY, so they will support NDS for a few years to come with some quality games

FFTA2, Trauma Center 2, FFIV, maybe Soma Bringer? Although Nintendo didn't seem to want to bring it to NA

Edit: Goddamned typos!

I don't think this is a fair thing to say. If you want to go by posts I also have an average of around 1 post per 1 1/3 days while you have about an average of 1 post per ever 3 1/2 days? Don't get me wrong but everybody should be able to voice your opinion if you ask, but you are right it shouldn't be flamed if it comes to that.

I think this whole argument started because people misunderstood what you meant by is it doomed. I am not positive but it sounds like you were just wanting peoples opinions on upcoming games right?

While Square-Enix does make great games they do have make some games that tend to not be up to par this is in my opinion of course but most of their Saga Series(except Saga Frontier 2) or even the GC Crystal Chronicles lived up to my expectations.

Just curious are you one of those people who only looks at the score and doesn't read the review? As most people that review games say, to actually see if you will like the game you need to actually read the whole review and not just look at the score.

But doesn't this happen with every system? It is just my opinion that the systems that are having the roughest time with trash games would be the Wii and PS3 since they don't have as many great games coming out monthly. Some systems only get 1 or 2 good to great games a month.

This here is not meant as a flame and I am sorry if you take this the wrong way.

I'm willing to give any game a chance. But, if you're gonna buy one game, it better be:
1. Something Quality
2. Something Fun
3. Something that's either long or has great replay value.

Flashcarts are all of those things.

If I'm gonna buy a game, it will be because it doesn't work on a flashcart..........like the upcoming guitar hero game, for instance. It needs that button box in slot2....

Oh noes only three games! How will you survive this month of dryness eh?

Seriously, I myself am only really looking forward to two games on that list (though like I said - I'm "keeping an eye on" another four) and that's enough to keep me satisfied! A shame you don't seem to feel the same about your three selected gemstones

That's the thing, they're not out yet.

So yeah, I'm pretty bored right now. xD
I plan on buying GH for the DS, didn't reserve it yet. T.T

I think the DS is nearing or has at least hit the on-top-of-the-hill mark. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's all downhill from here, but the system has been out for a long enough time as it is, and it still has a ton more games ahead of itself. Though, given the unique control system, it may see a longer shelf life than other consoles, unless Nintendo makes a new system that has something akin to this system as it is.

Given how much of the potential is being put to the test now, I think the best days for the system are yet to come. =P

Im pretty sure DS has at least 2 more years; it has high sells and the big N still has some of their series to spread on the ds for example fire emblem
Hopefully we will reach a 3000th release!!!
BTW it doesnt matter what games you dont like, because that doesn't make up the whole community, I DESPISE NINTENDOGS, yet it is THE TOP selling game on the DS

I know I should amend my first post, but let's think here for a second. Let's say that Nintendo keeps putting the support into the system as they have been. So much as to have a new Mario game, a new Metroid game (Metroid Dread?!), possibly even a new Zelda game though that's a small shot, and hey, why not Smash Bros. DS? Pipe dream? Yeah, it is, I admit as much, but can you imagine how incredible all of that would be?

Of course in the harsh reality, there are likely very few other first-party games to come out, but I still have faith in some of the other developers and whatnot to put out some pretty top-notch games. There certainly won't be a dearth of good games from what I see coming out soon.

Though I still secretly hope for a Mother Compilation and Smash Bros. DS among other things. =P

Don't just hope, do something about it! Let's make an online petition!! ^^ That'll get their attention!

You also need to think about it like this even if sales die down quite a bit games will still be coming out because there are so many people with the system.

Ahahaha. Online petition. I'm very doubtful Nintendo will update of their first-party games on the DS, as the DS is still selling like hotcakes. At this point, Nintendo is really sitting on games. Only when the DS starts to slow down will Nintendo step up and release that game they've been developing for just such a moment.

I find it pretty hilarious how one user, MystikEkoez thinks that this is a flame war. "LOL FUK U U PIECE OF SHIT!" is flaming, "You're COMPLETELY wrong and you don't know what you're talking about" isn't flaming, especially since all of these "under 100 posts" posters have given you very good reasons and have explained it in more than adequite detail.

What I find confusing in the bolded part. Why do you find it funny that a group of people who fall under this description disagree with you? Do you not visit forums very often? I see it happen a lot.

Just as a foot note, this game will actually sell because it already has quite a following from the other games in its long series, mostly released in Japan, "Tantei Jing?ji Sabur?"

Just for the record, since you've seemed to be unable to tell the difference so far: I am disagreeing with you, not flaming you.
