Is Pokemon Hurting the 3DS?

Why is this even up for discussion? It seems like the most sensible thing to do with something as hugely-sought-after as a pokemon game.

Even with the vastly increased amount of piracy for NDS games it still makes more profit than a 3DS-exclusive game would.
NDS games are playable on NDS,DSi and the 3DS. 3DS games are playable on 3DS.
The number of NDS, DSi and 3DS owners added together is higher than the number of 3DS owners alone (even including the few people who would buy a 3DS just for that one game wouldn't help).

A pokemon game requires neither the fancy extras of the 3DS nor it's increased power, thus it will not suffer from being "only an NDS title".



Also keep in mind that a lot of the pokemon games for the NDS were released many many years after the NDS came out.
There will be lots of pokemon games for the 3DS in the future, but right now it simply is a better decision to release them to a wider audience.
