I haven't updated the card since I bought it. I checked in the info screen and it says

Ver:H[805] F[101] k3.0 0B1

So I try to update to the next firmware by running the 103 nds file. Nothing just hangs at 2 white screens. I tried on a DS lite and DSi with the same result. I then tried all the newer firmware 105, 106A with the same result.

Is my card just bad/dead or am I missing something?

Tell me more about the microsd you use.
Brand, size, class, made in.
Is there an ez 3in1 currently inserted in your dslite ?

Ps : Kernel= Operating system (microSD)
Firmware= internal code of the flashcart.

Hi, I've tried a 1 gb kingmax, 4 gb kingston, and 16 gb Adata. All these cards came from newegg, so I assume they would be legit.

Nothing in my ds lite when I try, i dont own any GBA slot cards. I even tried running the 101 nds file and same thing. It very odd, since i originally used that file on my ds lite to get to 101 in first place.

Ive also used the panasonic format utility, so Im out of ideas to try.

So, you are talking about firmware version currently but can you tell me also the kernel version you are trying to run on your ez5i ?

As i said the firmware is not used to boot the flashcart. It's an updater that you run under the kernel that update the internal memory of the ez5i.

Kernel= Operating system (microSD)
Firmware= internal code of the flashcart

OH I downloaded what I thought was the latest kernel, it came bundled with 101 and 103 firmwares.
3.0 OB6 kernel.

I didnt think about the kernel being important to run the firmware updates. Should I be trying an older one?

So, actually what is the icon displayed in your dslite menu ? Tak or Guilty gear DS ?
What is the content of your microSD's root ?

Icon is Tak as its still firmware 101. Nothing is on the card's root except the ez software and a bunch of nds files of firmwares I was trying.

I've tried everything I can think of, and this card updated fine before. Thanks for the help but Im pretty sure the card is faulty.
